Yes the ipod was succesful simply because of the design, but those white headphones were the smartest thing when it came to marketing. As you walk down the street and see those white headphones, you pretty much know that person is using an ipod, it is free walking advertisement for the ipod. Apple knew what they were doing with the white headphones. I agree that wireless would be great, but will Apple ship w/ wireless, I highly doubt it.
