Wireless headphones? Why would Apple do that?

There’s rumor that Apple will ship the next iPod with wireless headphones (read). But I have a question: Aren’t the white cables part of the whole iPod branding? Just have a look at the iPod advertisements. The white earphones (they clearly have cables!!!) are as important as the iPod itself.

iPod with wireless headphones???

I mean, wireless headphones and Bluetooth support would be very cool, but it’s just not logical. It would be as if you’d take away the star on the Mercedes. So come on, if it’s just speculation imagine something else.

Dude, the white cables are NOT part any apple band! nor the Ipod. and since Sandisk is comming out with an really nice looking Mp3 player with about $20 less than the ipod, Apple have todo something to stay in the COOL Side of the market.

Using the white head phones is the smartest thing apple could have done. Yes the ipod was succesful simply because of the design, but those white headphones were the smartest thing when it came to marketing. As you walk down the street and see those white headphones, you pretty much know that person is using an ipod, it is free walking advertisement for the ipod. Apple knew what they were doing with the white headphones. I agree that wireless would be great, but will Apple ship w/ wireless, I highly doubt it.
