Google Suggest

Google Suggest Logo

Google has released a new feature: Google Suggest. Currently in beta stadium, this cool thing allows you to type words in the normal search bar and shows you possible search terms and their results. So it’s a live search which auto-completes your request while typing. It’s similar to the “Did you mean…” feature (which I come to use very often) that offers you alternative spellings for your query after you search, except that Google Suggest works in real time. You’ll need to have both JavaScript and cookies enabled to use Google Suggest.

Google Suggest Search

Our algorithms use a wide range of information to predict the queries users are most likely to want to see. For example, Google Suggest uses data about the overall popularity of various searches to help rank the refinements it offers. An example of this type of popularity information can be found in the Google Zeitgeist. Google Suggest does not base its suggestions on your personal search history. - Google
